Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. Follow the instructions below to permanently delete your account and personal data.

⚠️ Important Notice

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • All your dog profiles, photos, and grooming history will be deleted.
  • Active subscriptions will not be refunded for unused time.
  • You will lose access immediately upon deletion.

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the GroomIQ app.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the GroomIQ app on your device.
  2. Tap Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner).
  3. Scroll down and tap Account.
  4. Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Read the warning and confirm by tapping "Yes, Delete My Account."
  6. Enter your password to confirm (security measure).
  7. Your account will be deleted within 30 days.

Method 2: Email Deletion Request

If you can't access the app or prefer email, send us a deletion request.

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Body: I request the immediate deletion of my GroomIQ account and all associated data. Email address associated with my account: [YOUR_EMAIL]. I understand this action is permanent and cannot be undone.

What Gets Deleted?

✅ Permanently Deleted

  • Your email address
  • Your password (hashed)
  • All dog profiles and names
  • All uploaded dog photos
  • Grooming history and notes
  • Saved grooming cards
  • In-app preferences and settings

📦 Retained (Anonymized)

  • Purchase/transaction records (required by law)
  • Anonymized usage analytics (no personal identifiers)
  • Support ticket history (email removed after 7 years)

Why? Tax and legal compliance require us to retain anonymized purchase records for 7 years.

Don't Forget to Cancel Your Subscription

Deleting your account does NOT automatically cancel your subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel separately through Apple or Google:

  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → GroomIQ → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → GroomIQ → Cancel Subscription
